Terms of use
Last updated: 6 November 2026
1. About these terms
Closest Call, the game and the website closestcall.app (together "the game"), is run by a private individual in Ukraine ("we", "us"). By using the game you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the game. How we handle data is explained in the privacy policy.
2. The game
The game is free. Practice and single player need no account; online play uses a free guest account that the game creates for you (section 5). We are constantly working on the game, so we may change, update, suspend or discontinue all or part of it at any time. For example, an online match may end early when the server is updated.
3. Who may play
Anyone may play. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to play online.
4. Nicknames and fair play
Other players and the public leaderboards show your nickname. When you play, you must not:
- choose a nickname that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit or harassing, that infringes someone else's rights, or that pretends to be another person, us, or an organisation;
- cheat, for example by using bots, scripts, modified versions of the game or other automation, or by exploiting bugs;
- disrupt the game or other players, for example by overloading the servers, flooding matches, or getting around the limits on joining matches or creating accounts;
- manipulate ratings or leaderboards, for example by playing with several accounts in the same match, arranging results with other players, or letting someone else play on your account to raise its rating;
- try to access, probe or attack our systems or other players' data;
- use the game for anything illegal.
If we have reason to believe that these rules have been broken, we may rename an account, reset its scores, remove it from the leaderboards, delete it, end a match, or block access to the game, for example from an IP address. Please report abuse, illegal content or bugs that others could exploit to [email protected].
5. Accounts, ratings and leaderboards
Online play uses a free guest account. It is tied to a key that the game keeps on your device, not to an email address or a password. Keep it to yourself: whoever has the key plays as you. If you clear the site data or lose the device, the account can't be recovered.
Ratings, points, leaderboard places and achievements are part of the game. They have no monetary value and can't be sold or transferred. We may change how they are calculated, reset them (for example for a new season, or after a bug), or correct entries that came about by breaking these terms.
You can delete your account at any time in the game, under Profile. We delete accounts that haven't been used for a long time, as described in the privacy policy.
6. Our rights in the game
The game, including its software, graphics, design, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to play it for non-commercial purposes.
You are welcome to share links to levels, and to share screenshots, videos and streams of your games. Apart from that, you may not copy, sell, rent out or redistribute the game or parts of it, or offer it elsewhere. Open-source components included in the game remain under their own licences.
7. Availability
We do our best to keep the game running and fair, but it is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We can't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that matches can always be finished. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
8. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited. Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage arising from the use of the game, which is provided free of charge. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.
9. Stopping
You can stop using the game, and delete your account, at any time. We may limit or end your access as described in section 4, or end the game as described in section 2.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add sign-in with Google or Apple. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply to you from then on.
11. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim there.
12. Contact
[email protected], for questions about the game and these terms, and for reports of abuse or illegal content. This address is also our point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act. We answer in English.
